I got diabetes and my foot seems to change?
After the doctor said that I got diabetes six month ago, he prescribed metformin for twice a day. Last night I realized that my toes are changing in shape. Why? What is actually happening? Is it normal because I am older now 55 years old, or because of this disease? thanks
Do you think I have type II diabetes?
I'm 18, pretty skinny guy, I weigh 135 pounds and am about 5'10 or 5'11. I used to live in Las Vegas, NV which is a pretty dry climate and I recently moved to Santa Fe, NM for college. Santa Fe has a huge altitude compared to Vegas and since I've been here I've had excessive thirst, been drinking a lot of water, and have been urinating very frequently. I've researched that excessive thirst and frequent urination are the symptoms of diabetes and I'm wondering if you think I need to get a blood test?Yeah, well the thing is I never was thirsty like this in Vegas.I just talked with my uncle who is a doctor and he thinks it's really unlikely for me to have diabetes for a number of reasons. He also said that I would most likely be waking up in the night to drink water or urinate, which I'm not.

A friend of mine is having her 6th wedding anniversary soon, and is currently pregnant with twins. My 5 yr old niece may be diagnosed with juvenile diabetes this week. She went to the hospital sick and throwing up she had pneumonia and they checked her blood sugar because she had ketones in her urine and it was 209 she had been eating popsicles and gatorade so they put her on a sugar free diet and kept checking her sugars. It dropped down to normal and they released her from the hospital but they said she still needs a glucose test. Is it likely that she has it but it can be contolled with diet? They aren't giving her any sugar until after the test. Is there a chance that she doesn't have it? We are all scared for her. Part of one of her lungs doesn't work due to having been born a micropremie. 1 lb 11 oz and she is prone to catching what anyone else has. She also has AD HD which 90 % of premature babies get diagnosed with and seems to be under control. She has often complained of her heart hurting and the doctors did EKG tests, etc. but never at the time when she said it hurt. Oddly, at the time her sugar was high, she was saying it hurt and her heart rate was fast. Has anyone else had that experience? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Symptoms of Diabetes?
well I am overweight and I do want to change my life around but I am a bit of a hypochondriac as well so I think I have some of the symptoms of diabetes pleaseee help me I really want to set my life straight I want to know the necassary steps to take just in case.so the symptoms I am feeling that make me think that I have diabetes1.
