What does the doctor do to check for diabetes?
I have been having some symptoms of diabetes for the past couple of weeks. I have been drinking tons of water and going to the bathroom nonstop. I have also had some blurred vision, shortness of breath, and nausea. I have a doctors appointment this week and I was wondering if anyone knew how they tested for diabetes and if they will be able to tell me the results right away or if it will take like a week to get them back or something? I was also wondering if there is anything else they might test me for? Any info you have would be helpful. Thanks
If you are getting tested for diabetes, how long does it take after your blood test to get you results?
I heard it takes about 10 minutes for the doctor to find out, but i'm not sure. I'm getting tested later, and I would like to know. Could it possibly take days?

i know this is really bad for me to be asking but i honestly don't know the answer i have type one diabetes, i was diagnosed in december 2008 so it's been a while since the doctor told me what happens when i don't inject insulin in myself or i forget to do it. i don't wanna test it incase it's something really dangerous. i went for a blood test and they asked me to come back for a second because i was neutrein low or something so i did and they said there is nothing wrong with me but i have all the symptoms and my mum wont take me bac to the doctors because she thinks the doctors cant misdiagnose you but they can what should i do. oh yeah my mum said when she was a child she had anemia which is kind of similar ???????

Going for a blood test soon. Two years ago when I checked it last my fasting blood sugar was 75. In the last year I gained weight and having alot of signs of diabetes. Thirst, peeing alot during the day and at night . Started a diet at the 1st of the year. Eating no sweets, healthier, exercise which I have always done , drink alot of water and dropped 15 lbs. The diabetes symptoms are gone. Don't have to get up and pee or feel an urgency except when I drink alot of water for weight loss purposes . It it be my blood sugar was high and now more controled?

I have been tested for diabetes and do not have it, however I still feel like I do. I test my blood sugar obsessively everyday like 10 times or more a day to see what my blood sugar level is and it is always fine. Now, I'm thinking I have excessive thirst. I have a lot of saliva in my mouth all the time and I don't know if that's what's causing me to think I'm thirsty. I just feel like I look at the symptoms of diabetes and start to think I have them. I felt like my hand was tingling, but I was told by the doctor that is because I have carpal tunnel. I don't urinate a lot, but I do feel like I'm thirsty. Again, I know it's not diabetes, but I keep thinking it is. Do you think you can believe you have the symptoms of a disease like diabetes so much that you begin to have them even when you don't? Meaning, do you think I could be thinking I'm excessively thirsty because I think I have diabetes, even when I know I don't?
Juvenile Diabetes, do I have it?!?!?!?
OK, so I have not been feeling to good lately so I check out my symptoms online and all signs point to Juvenile Diabetes.Here are my symptoms Extreme weakness, fatigue, Drowsiness or lethargy, Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, Urinating at night Not normal for me and I have lots some weight but didn't think anything about it I'm trying to lose weight and I thought it was working. I thought I had diabetes last year but I got better. Now I'm really worried. Help
