OK, so I have not been feeling to good lately so I check out my symptoms online and all signs point to Juvenile Diabetes. Here are my symptoms: Extreme weakness, fatigue, Drowsiness or lethargy, Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, Urinating at night (Not normal for me) and I have lots some weight but didn't think anything about it I'm trying to lose weight and I thought it was working. I thought I had diabetes last year but I got better. Now I'm really worried. Help! |

Stop trying to lose weight. Also, TELL YOUR PARENTS |

Numbness/ tingling in hands and feet comes after years of high blood sugar levels. it is not a sign of new onset diabetes. What you have described doesnt' sound like diabetes. Juvenile diabetes is not that subtle. If you had undiagnosed diabetes, you'd be throwing up. You'd be so sick that your family would notice that something was wrong. |

You could. Only a doctor can tell you for sure though. 3 of the main symptoms are, extreme thirst, frequent urination, and extreme hunger. Extreme thirst: It would be unquenchable. You could drink, and drink, and drink, and still feel super thirsty. Frequent urination: You wouldn't just be urinating at night. You'd be going several times during the day. Before I was diagnosed, I'd sometimes go every half hour...and it usually wasn't just a little bit either. I'd have the "I have to pee NOW! " feeling. During the night I'd sometimes go 4-5 times. You do not have to be throwing up to have undiagnosed diabetes. My blood sugar was 630 (about 6 times the normal level) when I was diagnosed, and I never threw up before being diagnosed. |
